Green Initiatives

We plan various initiatives to inculcate green consciousness in students and plan actions to boost environment sustainability. We work with the motto “Save the nature to save the future, make safer environment for better tomorrow.”

The main objectives of the committee  is to create environmental awareness, value environmentalconservation,  understand the environmental, health and social   effects of global warming and inculcate environmental discipline amongst students.

These initiatives will sensitive students and will help them to take informed steps in their individual capacity, alter their lifestyle to respect nature and not take it for granted.

Green Initiative Committee and IQAC of Rev. Jacob Memorial Christian College, Ambilikkai took initiative to raise awareness about palm trees through palm seed plantation in its campus on 06.11.2021. College Secretary Dr.Nirmala Jeyaraj and Principal Dr.Jessen George sowed the first seed of palm tree in the campus garden followed by two hundred palm seeds were sowed around the college campus.

Green Initiative Committee and IQAC of RJMCC took initiative to identify the number of plants and trees inside the campus. Dr.P.Manikandan, Assistant Professor and Mr.R.Vignesh Assistant Professor, Department of Botanty, Arulmigu Palaniandavar college of Arts and Culture were invited to identify the species inside the campus. Nearly 109 species were identified in the Green audit.

Green Initiative Committee of RJMCC invited Mr.T.P.Kuppusamy, Coordinator, “Viluthukal”, an NGO based in Oddanchatram and Member of District Disaster Advisory Committee to the college campus to improve herbal garden and creation of sampling centre inside the college premises.
