INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Library and Information Science established in the academic year 2009-2010 with the initiation of C.L.I.S – Certificate Course in Library and Information Science. From 2015-2016, offering B.L.I.S – Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science. Department provide complete important proficiency in Library Science to it learners. It also mold it students with the enrichment of library resources, management, Society and services. The department encourages the students to participate various programmes, preparation and publication of research articles and join in higher education also. Producing University Rank Holders is one of the excellencies of LIS department.

C.L.I.Sc (CERTIFICATE COURSE IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE):

C.L.I.Sc (Certificate Course in Library and Information Science) is offering as a regular course which is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University from the academic year 2009-2010. Totally more than 200 students were passed out from CLIS course.

Qualification : Plus two pass

Course Duration : 90 working days (One Semester)

B.Lib.I.Sc (BACHELOR DEGREE IN LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE):

B.L.I.Sc (Bachelor Degree in Library and Information Science) is offering as a regular course which is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University from the academic year 2015-2016. Totally 28 students were successfully completed B.Lib.I.S course.

Qualification : Pass any degree

Course Duration : One Year – Two Semester)
